Janalyn Livingston

Meet the Teacher:

Hi! I’m Janalyn Livingston, and I have been teaching Choir and Music at FCS since 2023. I graduated from Bob Jones University with a Bachelor of Music Education.

My favorite part about teaching is getting to build relationships with the students. Music is a wonderful tool to help us grow in our love for God and respect for each other and it is amazing to watch students grow in creativity and talent from year to year.

Why FCS?

I chose to teach at Florence Christian because the Lord called me to teach music and Florence is my home. After going away to college, I felt the love and support of my home and I wanted to be a part of something greater than myself. Florence Christian is the perfect place to combine my love for God, teaching, and music.

How Music Prepares Students for Their Next Stage in Life:

Music will stay with you for the rest of your life. Many students will not continue music in college or choose it as a career, but they will experience music everywhere around them. After students leave FCS, they will be prepared to face many emotional and academic trials because they have learned discipline, empathy, and poise through their musical instruction.
