Kathryn Vernon

Hi, I’m Kathryn Vernon! This is my 2nd year teaching 5K at FCS, and my 6th year of teaching. I am a Florence Christian Alumni, and went on to graduate from Western Governors University!

I chose to teach at FCS because I feel led to be in Christian education. In addition to educating students academically, I can also communicate the Christian message to students. I want to be a part in instilling biblical truths that students can lean on and carry with them the rest of their lives.

Teaching students to read is my most favorite part of teaching. I enjoy teaching the students different strategies for decoding words and love to see their confidence grow as they become readers. I like for students to have fun with learning and develop a love for coming to school.
