Music/Drama

Hello! I’m Megan Kendall, and I currently teach Music and Drama at FCS. I graduated from the College of New Jersey, and have now been teaching at FCS for 19 years!

Shakespeare once stated that “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players…” Growing up my world literally was the stage. By the time I had entered high school, I was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and had over 100 different theatrical performances on my resume. My goal was to perform on Broadway. Then my junior year in high school a friend shared the Gospel with me and I realized my need for Jesus to save me from my sin. My whole world changed. I knew I wanted to serve the Lord but what did I have to offer Him? After prayer and Godly advice, I pursued a degree in music education. While in college, I worked several part time jobs to earn enough money to put myself through one year of Bible College. It was there that I fell in love with Christian Education. In Bible College everything we were taught was filtered through God’s word. For the first time in my life I had the Bible as a text book! It is my personal conviction that an education without God’s word as the foundation is insufficient for a successful life. I have been teaching here at Florence Christian School for about 19 years. Each and every day I get to do what I love. I am able to freely talk about my Lord and Savior, disciple students to a closer walk with Him, and teach them how to worship Him through the gift of music and drama. Today several of my former students are serving the Lord all over the world as missionaries, in their local church, as doctors, first responders, music teachers, mothers and fathers. I can say that I have invested my life in them. I am grateful that my time on this earthly stage is being given to serving the Lord and others.
